The Coastal Region tends to have higher humidity levels. The north having a long heating season and the south with a very limited heating season. It is unrealistic to think all hardwood flooring will perform in these higher humidity conditions. An acclimation period is likely necessary to let the wood adjust to the higher humidity conditions.
